Prince Albert, Saskatchewan - 20 year-old goaltender Garrett Zemlak will be out of the Prince Albert Raiders lineup indefinitely after sustaining a head injury last night.
Zemlak was injured at the 5:17 mark of the second period during the Raiders 4-1 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday. Zemlak was involved in a collision with two Wheat Kings in his crease after which he laid motionless on the ice for a prolonged period of time.
After being attended to by Raider Athletic Therapist Duane Bartley, team doctor Dr. Nigel Painter and paramedics from Parkland Ambulance Zemlak was removed on a stretcher and transported to Victoria Hospital for tests and later released.
The Raiders have recalled affiliated 16 year-old goaltender Eric Williams from the Ridge Meadow Flames of the Pacific International Junior (B) Hockey League
