During a Thursday teleconference with reporters, new Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen confirmed that former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell has joined the Cowboy staff as a quality-control assistant.
Also joining the OSU staff in an offensive support role is Brandon Jones, who was a Texas Tech center in 2002-05.
Harrell and Jones are in Stillwater now, Holgorsen said, "and they're going to be really, really good coaches at quality-control spots."
As a member of Texas Tech's staff in 2000-07, Holgorsen coached Harrell and Jones. Harrell was the Red Raiders' starting quarterback in 2006-08. With 15,793 passing yards, he ranks No. 2 on the NCAA's career list (behind Hawaii's Timmy Chang, who passed for 17,072 yards in 2000-04). Harrell's career total of 134 touchdown passes is the NCAA record. With a career completion percentage of .680, Harrell is the most accurate passer in Texas Tech history.
