Flames Drop A Close One
On Wednesday night at the Dome the Colorado Avalanche brought their fire extinguisher with them to Cow-Town and put them to go use. As they downed the Flames 3-2 in NHL action.
It all started off great for the Flames with two goals in the first 1:10 of the game but that's all they could get behind Anderson. As he was able to turn 30 of the Calgary's shots to pick up his ninth win of the season and the Avs tenth. Kipper has had a lot better outings I mean Colorado only fired 14 shots at him as he stopped a total 11 shots. I bet Finland loved watching that as he will be the goalie for them come February in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
How could they not love it I know for myself I love watching my Flames get no help from their goal tending. But I guess we all have are bad days at work, don't we. He will bounce back and make no mistake about it as Kipper goes the Flames go.

Favre's Ex-Teammates:"We Were Better"
Earlier this season,Brett Favre said this of the 2009 Minnesota Vikings." Physically, and from talent level, this is the best team I've ever been on." Farve's teammates from the 1996 Green Bay Packers team-which won the Super Bowl would beg to differ.
As Farve prepares to return to Lambeau Field for the first time as the quarterback of the rival Vikings, members of the 1996 Packers told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that as good as the Vikings are, they don't stack up ta a team that featured a dominant Reggie White on defense and Farve as the league MVP at quarterback.
Farve did say later he wasn't trying to slight the '96 Packers. Still, while ex-packers teammates acknowledge the Vikings strengths, they believe their team was better.
"To say that the team he's on now, after seven games,is better than the '96 team that's just preposterous. Not only did we have the number 1 defense in 1996, but we had number 1 special tams," former safety LeRoy Butler to the Journal Sentinel. "I bleed green and gold so much. I don't want somebody to beat my team."
Mark Chmura,a tight end on the '96 team, said he went through the rosters position by position and could not find an advantage for the Vikings. "And it all starts with Brett- Brett's not as good as he was." He said according the report.
"I mean, you're talking about the number 1 defense in the league at that time, maybe one of the best defenses ever to play the game," Chmura added, according to the report."Don't get me wrong. Farve is still a good quarterback, but he was unbelievable in the day. When we played back then, teams feared us. I don't know if teams fear the Minnesota Vikings today. We knew no one could beat us at home, absolutely nobody."
And former Packers left tackle Ken Ruettgers said the '96 Packers were so good that he knew as early as spring workouts that he was playing on a team with the potential to be special, according to the report.
"No doubt there was great talent on that 1996 team," Ruettgers said."In the spring, during workouts,I came home and told my wife. This team is going to win the Super Bowl." It's just that feeling you get when you're around guys who are all putting their own egos on the back burner and coming together for what's best for the team. We had some teams that were talented in the past, but there was no team where it was like, "Wow we're going this year."
The 1996 Packers went 13-3 in the regulars season and beat the New England Patriots 35-21 in Super Bowl XXXI,earning the team's third Super Bowl title.

Wednesday
Not much going on a snowy hump day in the City the rhymes with fun.
The Riders did the smart thing today and held practise in doors just like they have been doing for the past few weeks. It looks like Rob Bagg is proven me wrong when I said that with Walker going down the Riders will have nobody to keep other teams db's honesty. Along with Bagg Quinn and Fantuz have gotten in behind the db's for big plays. So I'm very happy to report that I was wrong on this one.
The Riders will hold practise in doors all week until they head out east to Hamilton to take on the Tiger Cats on Saturday.
The Pats or off until the travel up to prince Albert to face the Raiders. a lot of people in Regina have been very quick too jump on Brett Parker the Pats G.M for everything that goes wrong with the team. But tend too stay away from giving him any props when all is well and good with the Pats. I for one do both it's only fair right?
I see good things for the Pats this season I don't think I am the only one but I do know one thing for sure that I better in enjoy my space on the bandwagon. For now is it will get full very very soon.
Buts that's all I got for now.

Sit Down Ruutu
The NHL has handed down a three game suspension To Carolina Hurricanes forward Tuomo Ruutu. And rightfully so is Ruutu being the chicken shit cheap shot player he is hammed Colorado Avalanche forward Darcy Tucker from behind Saturday night. Tucker had to be wheeled off the ice on a stretcher is they picked him up you could see a pool of blood on the ice as he laid there for five minutes.
Ruutu will forfeit $ 59,067.36 in salary Tucker was taken to the hospital for a scan and also had 40 stitches in his forehead to close cuts. Tucker will be out of the Avalanche line up for at least 10 days but more then likely longer then that.
Ruutu you got off easy just wait until the next time you come face to face with Mr. Tucker it will be you laying on the ice with blood pouring out of your face. I can't wait to see that.
On more NHL news Philadelphia forward Mike Richards will not be suspend by the NHL for he hit on Florida Panthers forward David Booth. Which is the right call by the powers to be at the NHL office it was a clean hit I watched the replay over and over again and saw nothing wrong with it. Maybe a little late but it's hard to stop when you have all your momentum moving toward a player.
Mitchell Blair is crying on his blog that Richards should be suspend for the hit what else is new Blair is always crying about something shut the hell up and get off your lazy ass and get a job.
Besides Booth was caught with his head down and just before the hit hit he looked towards Richards which in turn had the hit worse clean hit case closed.
Still with Blair he is still bitch about Jarome Iginla/Sheldon Souray play saying that it was a dirty play which it was not. All it was two hockey players making hockey plays and they went crashing into the broads Souray got hurt that's hockey.
Grow up Blair

Tough Break
The Atlanta Thrashers will be without star forward Ilya Kovalchuk for two to four weeks. The 26-year-old has a small fracture of a non-weight bearing bone. Kovalchuk had a CT scan on Monday afternoon to determine the extent of a foot injury he suffered on Saturday against the San Jose Sharks.

True Crazy Stories
1. Bees Who Pay Their Respects
Margaret Bell, who kept bees in Leintwardine, 7 miles from her home in Ludlow,Shropshire(England),died in June 1994. Soon after her funeral, mourners were amazed to see hundreds of bees settle on the corner of the street opposite the house where she had lived for 26 years, The bees stayed for an hour before buzzing off over the rooftops.
2. Phantom Car Crash
On December 11,2002, two motorists called police to report seeing a car veering off the A3 truck road with headlights blazing at Burpham in Surrey. A thorough search uncovered a car concealed in dense undergrowth and the long dead driver nearby. It turned out that the crash had actually happened five months earlier when the driver Christopher Chandler had been reported missing by his brother.
3. Helpful Voices
While on holidays a woman, referred to by the British Medical Journal(1997) as AB, heard two voices in her head telling her to return home immediately. Back in London the voices gave her an address that turned out to be a hospital's brain scan department. The voices told her to ask for a scan as she had a brain tumour and her brain stem was inflamed. Though she had no symptoms,a scan was eventually arranged and she did indeed have a tumour. After an operation,AB heard the voices again:"we are pleased to have helped you," they said "Good-bye," AB made a full recovery.
Just reading these and then typing them a kind of got a chill up my spine but these and many other ones sure make you think. I know I do.

Weekend Round Up
Wow what a game on Saturday and what a weekend overall.
The Riders found a way too win on a chilly Saturday afternoon just like Hockey Canada found a way too piss off some people in this City more on that latter.
Kick off was at 3:30 pm and temp I think was a chilly 6 c or something like that but who cares it wasn't as cold as the last Rider home game. The game started out with a big time playoff feel to it and stayed that way until the final play it was Casey Printers first start in 10 months and yes he did play good better than most thought he would. But you could see the game rust on him through out the game. I just hope he brings fore the effort against the Stamps as he did the Riders but next time Printers don't throw up a lame duck into the end zone.
Speaking of that play I have been very hard on James Patrick this season for different reasons and rightfully so but James made a great play too seal the win and keep us in first place. I think that was best I have seen him play all year I hope that's is just a sign of things too come and not a one game hit.
Did Durant play his best game? No he didn't but with the game on the line in the last two minutes once again he drove us down the field for the score finding Quinn for the td and then a two point convert too tie the game game up at 30. That was after he throw his second pick that Miles took back too put the Lions up by eight. Just like after his first pick Durant also marched down the field for a td that just shows us how calm he is and how locked into the zone he is. Great games boys now that's keep the ball rolling and keep old mo on your side as we head into Hamilton for a Halloween treat.
The Pats put a halt on there three game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos Sunday night at the Brandt Centre Jordan Eberle had an other great game picking 3 points(1+2=3). Also Hood had two goals and should have had the hat trick goal if it wasn't for the glove hand of Morgan Clark. I really like the way Hood is fitting into the Pats line up he now finds himself on the second line.
The Pats were able to skate the Broncos into the ground as they out worked them out shot them out chanced them and out played them all game all. Maybe now some people will shut the hell up until we lose again of course . I think that this team has all the talent too make a very long run this season and even the Mem cup is not pipe dream after all but time will tell.
The Pats are now off until this Friday when they travel up to P.A to take on the Raiders the Pats next home action is not until Nov.4 when the Tigers come to town.
Sunday wasn't all smiles and high fives as my 49ers lost to the Houston Texans 24-20. The score could have been a lot worse then that as it was 21-0 at half time but thank god coach Singletary had the enough sense to pull Hill out the game and put in Smith which by the way is not much better. But you know what they if life hands you lemons but Smith was able to bring the 49ers to back within 3 with three second half td throws but that's as close as they could get.
I have been saying all along that this team is not as good as their record says they are and i feel that it's just going too be an other long season with no playoffs I sure hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am.
Saw 6 is a must see for sure it leaves you wanting more and more we will get without giving away the movie there will be a Saw 7.
Hey Mitchell Blair why don't you man up and admit to your mistakes and when your at it find a job.
That's all I got for now.

Big Weekend
Today starts a very good weekend for the blogger of course still have too get through the work day today but after that it's party time. It all starts with going on opening night of Saw 6 which I think be the final chapter in this movie icon series. Saw has taking us through a lot of twist and turns for the last 6 years and tonight just maybe we might find out what's in that damn box. That Jon(jigsaw) left for his ex-wife Jill Tuck i sure hope so i have my ideas but I will leave it at that until I see the movie tonight.
It will crazy at the Galaxy Cinemas tonight with line ups all the way outside and all the shows sold out that's my very smart Ashley is using here lunch break too go get the tickets early. As I can't just too much work today at the office it is Friday after all.
Then on Saturday going to the big game too watch the Riders whip up on the Lions and some Guy named Casey Printers. Who ever that is? But really Wally have you lost your mind too think that people are buying your bullshit that Travis Lulay is hurt I didn't see that last game against the Blue Ballers. But I guess he's hurt so be it I don't care who they play at qb they can bring Doug Flutie as far as I'm care. The Riders come out of this game with a win so thanks for coming enjoy Regina spend some money then leave with your asses handed to you on a silver platter.
Speaking of the game my cousin from Swift emailed me asking if we could trade tickets on Saturday I would give him my tickets for the Rider game and he would give me his tickets for the Pats/Broncos game on Saturday night. Can you believe that I thought about it and emailed him back with four simple words NO CHANCE I HELL. He then emailed me back and said that he would include gas money for me and pay for mine and Ashley's beers at the game. Now he has me thinking about it but in the end I emailed him back and said you know that's a lot of beers lol but I said no thanks I can go to Swift any other time this year and watch the Pats play them.
Besides I would much prefer to watch the Riders take first all to them selves that's not a shot at the Pats.
Then on Sunday me and some of the boys are going down to the press box for NFL Sunday for beer and wings. After all the NFL hoopla it's off the Pats game Sunday night to watch Pats finish off the sweep of the home set with the Broncos. I hope come Monday I can be rested enough so I can focus at work. Because after work Monday night it's off to the press box again for the Monday nighter.
Then after all of that back to the norm for the rest of the week well that's all for now.
Remember to play a safe ride home we don't need your all jacked up and on the road.

Tiger Caught By The Tail
It doesn't matter if you're the fastest gun or the greatest brain surgeon. Someday, some kid is going to come along and show you up.
That day came for golf legend Tiger Woods on Oct.4. He was out driven by a 12-year-old kid.
Woods was in North Carolina to open a new golf course and hit a few tee-shots down the fairway. Two of them landed in the trees. Then he asked if anyone in the crowd thought they could do better.
Mark Benevento Jr. of New Jersey stepped forward. The pre-teen shot the ball 200 yards, right down the middle. Woods was stunned."Do that again" he said. "We've got to see that again."
So the lad did it again.
"I was surprised because I thought I was going to top it or something" the middle schooler told the NBC affiliate"Woods was clapping he was really surprised that I could actually hit it."
More that surprised he was duly impressed."Well done bud well done," he told Mark. "I'm proud of you."

Off The Bandwagon And Out Of The Wood Works
All that crashing and pounding not too mention the bitching and crying are some of the oldest team in the CHL so-called fans. After losing to the Blades in Saskatoon last night the masses have hit up Rod Pedersen's blog today to let Rod and the rest of the readers know .That the Pats should start dumping their top end players call it a season pack it in give up get this after fourteen games. Now for those who don't know there are 72 games in a WHL season which would leave the Pats 58 games left to be played.
Sure the Pats record (5-7-1-1) is not turning heads or making teams a little bit jumpy but it's early and this team which is loaded with skilled players they need time to work out some kinks. Last night's game was a good game to watch that has been the way fot most of the this young season the only game that comes to ind is the 5-0 lose to the Calgary Hitmen. But other than that i think that the Pats have put a good product on the ice now only if the City of Regina would realize that and. Start showing up to the games so far this season I think the biggest crowd was around 48 hundred people.
Come on that's not good enough people wake the hell up and realize that the Pats are great entertament for a low cost instead of spending are of your money on the Riders which by the way I love the Riders and have season tickets for years just like I do with the Pats. Spend a little bit for a game ticket hell you can even go down to any safeway and pick yourself up a ticket for $10. Sure you have to sit way up but at least you showed up!
So with that said The Pats have one more game on this mini road trip in swift Current on Saturday and then on Sunday they come back home to finish up the home and home with the Broncos. What's up Jon. So I suggest to you that you go down to the Brandt Centre or even Safeway and get yoursefl a ticket to watch some fast pace hard hitting WHL action.
See ya at the Rider game on Saturday and then the Pats game on Sunday.
All is well it ends well!!!
