Now some might why are you blogging about the Broncos and Wheat Kings playoffs series. It's simple it's the only playoff hockey we in Regina? What do you mean, you ask what happened to the Pats. For those who don't know the Pats missed the playoffs again for the second season in a row. And the Broncos can't play at home in Swift Current, as they got the boot in favor of the World's Women Curling Championship.
The Wheaties are up 3-0 so in the pivot game 4 tonight bring your brooms, as it looks like the Wheat Kings are about to wrap it up. But the 4th win is always the hardest one to get, so don't expect the Broncos just to lay and give it to them. As they did show some life last night while they were down 2-0, the Broncos fought back and tied it up at only to lose 5-2.
The reason they were able to tie the game is because they started hitting and skating and not just giving the game to Brandon.
I guess we will see how bad the Broncos want to continue their season. For me it would be bitter sweet watching the Broncos season come to a end tonight, yes I am cheering for Brandon a Wheat King win would mean that's all the playoff hockey I get to see this season. So with that said if the Broncos could somehow win tonight and game 5 in Brandon game 6 would be back here. Meaning at least one more game in the playoffs will be played at the Brandt Centre.
The Broncos are not the only team on verge of beaning swept out of the playoffs that could happen to the Kamloops Blazers, as they trail the Vancouver Giants 3-0 as well. The Giants will have the chance to complete the sweep tonight in game 4 in Kamloops, so if your not coming down to the Brandt Centre tonight. the Giants/ Blazers game can be seen live on Shaw TV or if you live in Regina or nearby Access 7 will have it as well.
The Blades and Rebels also continue their best of 7 quarter final tonight with game 3 and 4 in Red Deer. I don't think we will see anything like in game 2. Where the Rebels ran the Blades net mined Steven Stamford followed by a scrum . After all over that and refs got things figured out, as soon as the puck dropped so did the mitts, a 4 0n 4 line brawl. to see it for yourself http://saskatoonblades.com to click on link and go to the game highlights.
Four other games are to be played tonight as well:
Game 4 Tri City at Chilliwack (Tri City leads 2-1)
Game 4 Kootenay at Medicine Hat (Kootenay leads 2-1)
Game 4 Everett at Kelowna (Everett leads 2-1)
Game 3 Spokane at Portland (Spokane leads 2-0)
