The Pats host the Kelowna Rockets tonight in what is the last home game for the Pats in 2009. As the Pats will head out onto the road for a nine game swing starting Friday in Medicine Hat.But the Pats home will be put to good use as Team Canada starts their training camp on Saturday.Getting prepared to try for their record setting 6th straight gold medal. In the the World Juniors.
The Rockets will be playing their second game of a six game road trip through the East Division. Last night in Swift Current the Rockets beat the Broncos 3-2. For their four straight and season high win on the road.They are now (6-9-0) in road games this season.They enter the night in 6th in the West Conference,one point back of the Everett Silvertips for 5th. Tyson Barrie leads them in scoring (6-24-30).
As mentioned before this is the last home game for the Pats in 2009. The Pats will leave tomorrow for Medicine Hat for what will be the first of nine road games for the blue and white. The last time the Pats took to the ice they handed the visiting Prince Albert Raiders a 4-1 loss. Lead by Jordan Eberle(2-2-4). Who sits second in league scoring with (28-29-57). Jordan Eberle and Colton Tuebert will make the trip with the club for Friday's game. Then fly back to Regina for the start of Team Canada's camp.
This will be the only time this season the Pats and the Rockets will meet this season. In their only meeting in 2008-2009,the Rockets beat the Pats 3-2 in Kelowna. With Eberle picking up both goals for the Pats.
The last time the Rockets met in Regina was exactly two years ago to the day. Which the Pats won 4-3 Eberle also scored in that game as well.
